Exposé in allen Ehren, manchmal soll ein Programmwechsel schnell gehen. Was aber wenn die Übersicht fehlt? Was wenn ich mich durch Exposé klicken muss um zum gewünschten Fenster zu gelange?

DockView bietet hier eine kleine Hilfe, die mitunter ein Chaos bis zu einem bestimmten Grad verhindern kann.

Was ist DockView?

DockView funktioniert quasi wie die Aero Funktionen unter Windows 7. Mac OS X in allen Ehren – Es ist nur ein Vergleich

Bei navigieren der Maus über ein Dock Icon zeigt DockView alle geöffneten Fenster darüber an. Somit lässt sich ohne herumgeklicke schnell und einfach auf alles zugreifen

Funktionen

Wie bereits beschrieben erscheinen über dem Dock diese Fensterchen, aber DockView beherrscht noch etliches mehr! Auch Per ⌘ + ⇥ erscheinen die Fensterchen über den geöffneten Apps

Weiters lassen sich über DockView versch. Apps steuern.

So lässt sich über die Mail Fenster direkt auf neue Mails checken:

iTunes, VLC und Quicktime lassen sich auch über Steuerelemente ansprechen:

Meine Meinung?

Ich hab mich in das App verliebt Es verfeinert einfach den Alltag mit meinem Mac. Somit kann ich es nur weiterempfehlen

Ich entschuldige mich auch dafür, dass es etwas gedauert hat bis ich den Review geschrieben hatte. Aber die Updates machten es enorm schwierig das App zu Testen

Ich glaub die letzten beiden Wochen gab es jeden Tag mindestens ein Update. Das zeigt, dass der Entwickler voll hinter seiner Arbeit steht und auch ständig weiterentwickelt wird – Ist doch ein gutes Zeichen

Ich freu mich jedenfalls, auf weitere tolle Updates und ev, neuer Features

What is DockView?

DockView shows you, whenever your mouse lays on an App in your Dock, adequate to the number of windows to your App this little pop-ups above your Dock.

A lot of great features

DockView comes along with great features. There’re a few Apps  that are supported for special interactions.

In the pop-up for Mail, theres this envelope symbol in it. If you click it, Mail will check all you accounts for new Mails, without even opening a window of Mail.

The best of all are the control elements for iTunes, VLC and QuickTime:

Switching tracks or pausing the currently playing is a lot more convenient with DockView if you have no keyboard which supports iTunes interactions with F7-F9

My thoughts

I can recommend DockView to you, because I like it, and I think it’s very useful. Ok I can’t deny the similarity to the Windows functions But for sure, it is a great extension for you Mac

I’m also sorry that it quite took me a while till I published the review. But all the updates made it a lot more difficult to test it. I think the last few weeks were updates every day

It seems the App is well supported and the Dev is into his work. So I’m sure, there will be a lot more awesome features in the future
